We have quite a full diary returning to some house sits we have previously had the joy to do. It is one of our simple pleasures while waiting for the house build to progress. It really makes us happy to see the pets friendly faces light up when they see us again, not to mention the owners too! We have generally met some great friends while traveling around and looking after their fantastic houses and wonderful pets!
However, before we left, as we mentioned in our last post we did a bit of a sit for our friends as they went down to the Algarve for a bike club meet-up. While we were enjoying our time with their daughter cooking pancakes and baking cakes, Paula had been forced off the road by a wreckless driver in the Algarve and her bike landed on her ankle giving her a nasty sprain. luckily it was only a minor injury and could have been much worse. However the bike needs to get a check-up to assess any damage so she managed to get a hire car back (an automatic, so her ankle was rested).

We started the following week with a short trip to our friends from across the pond and their house in Pederniera just above the town of Nazerè on Portugals silver coast. The two cats (Uma and Quiabo) really took to us quickly and Cosmo and Duffy definitely know us now. Duffy is getting on a bit now, so only goes on short walks, but Cosmo is a constant companion and Annette’s shadow around the house! We went out for a walk around Nazerè the day after we arrived. The weather was nice, so we decided to stretch the walk out up to Sítio and beyond. We even came across one of our architects other build projects too. There was lots going on there and it looks like they are not experiencing the delays we are. Hopefully they will finish the external cladding at our house very soon as well, before the rains arrive.

By the time we reached the bottom, the temperature had risen quite a bit, so it called for a couple of cold beers and a cup of water for Cosmo.
We then had a relaxing day with the pets catching up with emails and messages etc. We also popped over to return the house keys from our previous sit and were so surprised at receiving a small thank you gift! 😘
Before we knew it, it was then time to return to base and get ready for our next return house-sit. We also had a quick check to see if any progress at the house had occurred while we were away. Unfortunately there does not seem to be an end to our delays, so more than ever we need some positive vibes to carry forward.
Our next sit isn’t far away once again and it is only a short one, so we hope to have better news for the next update.
Thank you to everyone who has sent messages and emails, we are humbled by all your kind words and we hope you keep following and sharing the posts. It cheers us up no end to know so many people are following this blog and or the YouTube channel.
