We Are Wayne (Ronnie) and Annette (Netty).


We decided to stop working and build a new more sedate lifestyle in the country we love close to our besties Pete & Veronica.

  • Supporting England Rugby
  • Enjoying land clearing
  • At the beach with the besties
  • At the top of the Fornea

So it was time to ‘seize the day’ (Carpe Diem)! And go for it!

Why do this?

  • We both prefer to be near nature and in a warmer climate than the UK offers.
  • By selling our UK property and moving here, it allows us to chase our dream of living in the country we love, immerse ourselves in its culture and history and building a house of our dreams in surroundings that we love.
  • These aspirations would not be attainable if we were to stay in the UK and many years would need to be spent working on, trying to achieve the same objectives.

So our journey begins here. Well actually it started a few years back when we actually got our Portuguese NIF number and purchased a small plot of land, close to our buddies, and within a lovely village surrounded by hills and forests.

We also employed the services of an English speaking architect, of which you will learn more about in the coming posts, to help forge our dreams into reality.
